National Contact Points for the European Commission
On behalf of the Federal Government and in cooperation with the European Commission, the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe with its specialized National Contact Points supports German partners for successful participation in the EU Research Framework Programmes. The Project Management Agency optimally ensures the coordination of national and European research funding. Our national contact offices closely cooperate with the national consulting system and the European networks of National Contact Offices. We offer the following services to companies, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), research institutions, universities, and multipliers:
- Telephone hotline, regular information service, and information events
- Consulting and extensive support for consortia in the application for and preparation of projects as well as for leading and in contract negotiations

EUREKA FACTORY
Under the European research initiative EUREKA, PTKA coordinates the network factory for the production sector in Germany and supports applicants in the preparation and execution of projects.

ERA-NET Activities
Together with the BMBF, PTKA is active in several ERA-NET projects. These projects are aimed at the long-term coordination and cooperation of national research programs and policies in various fields within the EU.
International Research Cooperation
Under scientific-technical cooperation agreements (WTZ) or the corresponding protocols, the BMBF or BMWi and foreign expert ministries have agreed on a number of cooperative ventures in various fields of research. PTKA supports both ministries by the following activities:
- Launching, preparation, and support of new and already existing bi- and multi-lateral cooperative ventures and projects.
- Exchange of knowledge and development of specific measures to promote the transfer of German technologies to other countries as desired by the BMBF.
- Finding of foreign project partners for interested German enterprises and research organizations.
Target countries include among others China, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Palestine, Russia.
